Chapter 6: How to Improve Your X Game

    Hey guys,

Twitter? No, X. In my opinion, this whole transition from Twitter to X is a little silly, but what is not silly is the over 368 million monthly users who utilize this platform. They send over 6,000 posts per second, and more than half a billion in a single day, this is crazy.

This chapter opens by giving a brief history of X, and how it started in 2006 by Jack Dorsey who wanted to build a platform similar to SMS or texting. It is crazy to think how much this platform and idea has grown from its roots. In 2022, after many months of hesitation and lawsuits, Elon Musk purchased Twitter for $44 million. Musk's interest in this platform left many, including myself, questioning his intentions and why he would want to purchase this platform. However, the answer was simple, saying he wants to make the platform a place for free commentary. He has made many changes since arriving to Twitter, the newest one being the name change to X. Other changes include, return of previously banned accounts, changing the process for verification, laying off thousands of employees and revoking free access to the platform's API.

If you want to make sure your X game is as professional as possible, make sure you consider the following when building your profile. An account name, this can contain up to 15 characters and should resemble you or your business/brand. Profile picture, this should visually represent you, or your business/brand. It is best to maintain consistency amongst your platforms by using the same profile picture on all platforms. Next is a bio, this is a place to tell about your company/brand and why people should follow it. There is a 160-character limit, this is a great place to add links, deals and locations for your customers. A header photo is the next step, this takes up a lot of real estate on your page and is a great place to showcase your brand by featuring products, services, or a new campaign. Pin posts, this is the ability to pin important posts to the top of their page so that when users scroll down on the page, this stays at the top. Your gallery is another great way to showcase your brand which boosts the visual impact of a brand's profile. You should post a minimum of 6 relevant photos or videos to this gallery.

Looking forward, customer relations will continue to be heavily reliant on X, as it is not replicable on other platforms. However, with the new additional of the Threads platform, will we see X go away? Let me know what you think in the comments below!
